Cabane is a brand specialising in premium knitwear for men and women, founded in 2013.
Committed to high-quality local manufacturing, every piece is made in Roanne, one of France's knitwear capitals. Short supply chains, quality yarns, local expertise, and respect for materials and people are the guiding principles behind every collection.
Each collection champions a selection of fine, natural materials. Our pieces are made in specialist workshops with proven expertise in knitting and garment making.
Every style is tested for more than a year before it goes on sale, allowing us to guarantee impeccable quality.
Cabane sweaters
Our yarns are selected from the finest spinning mills. Each yarn is chosen to meet as many requirements as possible: durable, soft, natural and respectful of the environment and animal welfare.
Our aim is to source increasingly local materials, such as Arles merino wool, linen, recycled materials and deadstock from luxury houses.
Every style is tested for more than a year before production begins to ensure that it stands the test of time. Garments are pre-washed so customers can machine-wash them on a wool cycle without damaging the knit. Our sweaters are designed to last.
The brand's creator
Alix Briffaud is the founder and designer of Cabane. Born in southwestern France, surrounded by apple orchards, vineyards and cereal fields, she first pursued a career in agronomy and agriculture. Seeking creativity and driven by an entrepreneurial spirit, she discovered the craft of knitwear with passion in her adopted region: the Loire.
Inspired by the people she met, the materials and local expertise, she decided to start again from scratch by creating Cabane: an authentic, locally rooted brand, using the finest yarns and working with exceptional craftspeople.
